Extra old Rum
«Straight from the cask»
Bronz Medal - International Spirits Challenge 2011(UK)
PRESENTATION: Chantal Comte has chosen to name this marvel « The Tower of Gold » as a symbolic reminder of the treasures which arrived in Seville, brought from the New World in the holds of Christopher Columbus’ Caravels.
On the banks of the Guadalquivir, this 13th Century almohad tower still stands like a nostalgic sentry in the beautiful Anda lusian light.
It is a poetic and historic link between the old Europe and the distant islands which Saint-John Perse described so well « the first solitary islands, the islands round and ringed by an infini ty of space like stars...The sea between these islands is of luxurious rose…».
ALCOHOL: 54,4°
ORIGIN: La Favorite Distillery - Fort de France - Martinique
VINTAGE: 2002
Straight from the cask - bourbon finish
TASTING NOTES: Beautiful blond colour, with dazzling golden tones.
A stunning nose of chocolate, honey, bourbon vanilla, with a hint of refreshing ginger. A concord of elegance, harmony and equilibrium, enhanced by the gentle presence of wood.
An outstanding Rum !
Chantal Comte choosing to bottle it in France: it is no longer eligible for the AOC Martinique certificate, wich is replaced on the label by the indication Rum from the Franch Antillas.
